“Viktoria and I had a trial Italian lesson, and everything was really interesting and well organised. The platform is very convenient. Right from the first lesson we talked a lot and did interesting exercises. That first lesson was enough to learn a lot of new things and realise we'll definitely keep working together.”

Why book a free Italian trial lesson?

The trial gives us time for a real conversation before you make any commitment, so by the end we both have enough information to decide whether working together makes sense.

For you

You can see how I teach, ask questions and decide whether you feel comfortable learning with me, while also telling me what feels difficult and what you would like to achieve so that you receive honest feedback about your current Italian.

For me

By learning about your starting point, the pace you prefer and the kind of support you need, I have enough context to suggest a sensible format and next step for you instead of handing you a generic lesson plan.

Who can join a free Italian trial lesson?

You do not need to study or prepare anything in advance. The cards below explain the personal and practical requirements, including age, level, language, lesson format and equipment.

  • Minimum age

The free trial is available to students aged 16 or over.

  • Italian level

I work with complete beginners (A0) through intermediate students (B1).

  • Language

We need to share English, Russian or Italian so that I can explain things clearly.

  • Lesson type

Available for individual, pair, group and exam preparation lessons. Pair and group students attend together; asynchronous lessons are excluded.

  • Hardware

You need a computer or tablet with a camera and microphone. No paid software is required.

  • Internet connection

You need a stable internet connection for a clear, uninterrupted video call.

You can also read about the equipment and tools used for online lessons.

How do you arrange the free Italian trial?

Message me on Telegram and tell me what you need, including your current level, goal and usual availability, so we can find a time that works for both of us without any payment or automated booking process.

Message template

Hi Viktoria, I’d like to arrange a free trial lesson. My current level is …, my goal is …, and I’m usually available …

  1. Prospective student: Hi Vika! I’m Alex. I’m a complete beginner and I’d like to learn Italian before moving to Italy.
  2. Vika: Hi Alex! A free 45-minute trial lesson is a good place to start. We’ll talk about your goals, check your starting point and choose the most suitable path. I have a slot this Thursday at 18:00 (Italy time). Would that work?
  3. Prospective student: I already have an appointment on Thursday, and afternoons are difficult for me. Could we try another day?
  4. Vika: Of course! How about Friday at 10:00 (Italy time)?
  5. Prospective student: Yes, that works! See you on Friday.
  6. Vika: Perfect, Friday at 10:00 it is! I’ll send you the video-call link here. See you soon 👋

What happens during the 45-minute Italian trial?

The trial is a relaxed 45-minute conversation mixed up with lesson and teaching elements, which gives us time to discuss your goals, understand where you are now and decide what would be most useful next.

You do not need to decide or pay for anything during the trial.

  1. Tell me about your Italian

We talk about what you have studied, what feels difficult, why you want to learn Italian and which language you prefer for explanations.

  2. Try a few short activities

I may suggest a few short grammar, comprehension or practical language activities. They are not an exam, and complete beginners may not need them.

  3. Get clear feedback

I explain what I notice about your current level, strengths and main areas to work on. This is an informal assessment, not a certification.

  4. Leave with a practical next step

Before we finish, I suggest the lesson format, frequency, language of explanation and learning path that could suit you.

What happens after your Italian trial?

Before we finish, I suggest a lesson format, frequency and learning path based on what we have discussed, after which you can decide in your own time whether you would like to continue.

If you would like to continue

  1. Choose your lesson format

Review my recommendation and choose the format and weekly frequency that suit you.

  2. Agree on a regular time

We find a regular day and time that works for both of us.

  3. Reserve your lesson block

The first lesson can be paid individually. Then, the following lessons must be prepaid in blocks of 4 calendar weeks. After that, the lessons will start.

If you need time to decide

That’s completely fine. Nothing is charged or reserved automatically, and there is no automatic enrolment. You can contact me later if you decide you would like to continue.

Questions about the free Italian trial

Here below you can find clear answers to the most common questions my students have about the free trial lesson I offer.

Is the trial lesson really free?
Yes. The 45-minute trial lesson is completely free, and there is no commitment to continue. I offer one free trial at the beginning of our teaching relationship; additional free trials are not offered later.
Is it a regular Italian lesson?
The trial is primarily a diagnostic first meeting rather than a regular teaching lesson. We get to know each other, discuss your experience and goals, assess your current level and identify a suitable learning path. If useful, I may also give you a few short targeted exercises, but they are not required in every trial.
Can I book if I am a complete beginner?
Yes. Complete beginners at A0 are welcome and do not need to prepare anything in advance. The conversation and any activities are adapted to what you can already do.
Which levels do you teach?
I teach Italian from A0, for complete beginners, up to B1, intermediate level.
How does the trial work for pair or group lessons?
Everyone who plans to study together attends the same trial lesson. This lets us discuss the shared goal, understand each participant’s starting point and check whether the group is well matched.
Is the trial available for exam preparation?
Yes. A free trial is available before an exam-preparation path, so we can discuss the certification goal, current level and the most suitable preparation plan.
Is the trial available for asynchronous lessons?
No. The free trial is available for individual, pair, group and exam-preparation lessons, but not for the asynchronous format.
Can I reschedule the trial lesson?
Yes. We can agree on a new time for a trial lesson, including a trial attended by a pair or group.
What do I need for the video call?
You need a suitable device with a camera and microphone, a stable internet connection and a quiet place for the call. You do not need to buy any software or subscription; I will tell you which platform we will use and send you the link.
Do I have to continue afterwards?
No. After the trial, you can decide whether you would like to continue. There is no payment, automatic enrolment or obligation to reserve a regular lesson.
